  Born on August 22, 2000, in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, HIRAI is a Japanese singer-songwriter based in Tokyo. In 2021, he moved from Shiga to Tokyo. While attending vocational school, a video of him singing on TikTok gained attention, marking the beginning of his growing presence on social media. Today, HIRAI has over 44,000 followers across his social media platforms, including more than 13,000 followers on Instagram. Through street performances, live events, and social media, he continues to share his music with audiences across Japan. While working as a hairstylist, HIRAI continued pursuing his passion for music. In late 2023, he made the decision to leave his career as a hairstylist and dedicate himself entirely to music, beginning his journey as a full-time singer-songwriter. During his junior high school years, HIRAI experienced difficulties attending school following a move to a new environment. At one point, life itself felt unbearably difficult. During this challenging period, he discovered the power of music and realized that singing allowed him to express his true feelings. This experience became the foundation of his artistic journey. Inspired by his own experiences, HIRAI carries a heartfelt message: Just being alive is enough. I want to give you hope to keep living. With this message at the heart of his music, he actively participates in social outreach activities, including live performances at support centers for children who struggle to attend school and residential care facilities for children, as well as motivational talks at educational support organizations. His debut original song, Muchi, was written for his younger self and for those facing similar struggles and emotional pain. The song has surpassed 2 million UGC (user-generated content) and short-form video views, as recognized by TuneCore Japan. His music continues to reach wider audiences through social media. On YouTube Shorts, a single video featuring one of his original songs has surpassed 1.5 million views. On TikTok, more than 1,500 videos have been created using his song Muchi. The official music video for Muchi, available on YouTube, has exceeded 17,000 views. His music has also received airplay on multiple FM radio stations across Japan. HIRAI continues to release original music, perform at live events and street performances throughout Japan, and connect with listeners through social media. On March 21, 2027, he will hold his first solo concert, HIRAI 1st ONE MAN LIVE - Anata to Tsuyoku Ikite Iku (Living Stronger Together With You), at Shinjuku SUNFACE in Tokyo. With a goal of selling out 100 tickets, this milestone marks an exciting new chapter in his musical journey. His ultimate dream is to perform at the legendary Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. Just as music once saved his life, HIRAI hopes that his own songs can become a source of hope for someone else. With every performance, he continues to share music that touches hearts, embraces emotions, and reminds people that simply being alive is enough.
