Love Entrusted to the Blossoms (original)
Echo Scroll
This piece is inspired by the delicate beauty of plum blossoms blooming at night, and the wistful sorrow of waiting for someone who never arrives. The scent of white plum drifting beneath the moonlight becomes a symbol of fleeting love, unspoken words, and the quiet heartbeat of a spring night.
It also draws inspiration from Makura no Sōshi (The Pillow Book, around 1000 AD), written by the court lady Sei Shōnagon during the Heian period. Like its famous passage "In spring, at dawn," the essay poetically depicts the beauty of nature and court life, carrying the Japanese aesthetic of okashi (subtle elegance and charm) into the present day. By weaving motifs such as plum blossoms and moonlit nights into the lyrics, the work resonates with the "ephemeral beauty," "grace," and "hidden emotions in daily life" described in the Makura no Sōshi.
