Shin:e created the track for this song, then kiwa wrote the lyrics and melody, and kiwa sang this song herself. This is the first collaboration between the two, but Shin:e was willing to accommodate kiwa's request and was even more tactful. Shin:e mixed and mastered this song, and kiwa and Pon created the music video and cover. Backed by Shin:e's cool, yet somehow endearing and warm sounds, kiwa expresses a feeling of modern-day entrapment in a sometimes raw way. The "you" that kiwa sings about in her lyrics seems to refer to young people living in today's IT society. They are deprived of their physicality, yet blood is indeed gushing from their wounds. What can the adults, who have become like creatures completely different from them, do for them? In the music video, the disparate worlds are haphazardly connected, but perhaps this is the antithesis of the idea that all of them, virtual or robotic, are their "reality". The music video for this song is now available on kiwa Official YouTube Channel.

Artist Profile

  • kiwa

kiwa was born in Ishikawa, an old town in Japan. As a child, she played in nature and loved Japanese poetry and old songs, sometimes crying alone at a touching song. She listened to Western music, which her mother preferred. She spent only one year of her six-year-old life in Pittsburgh, United States of America. She became a singer-songwriter while still at university, writing songs such as 'Fall Sky', which she was invited to perform at local events. Her beautiful voice, peculiar melodies and sad and passionate lyrics were highly regarded and the Kozo Suganuma Award was given to her at a competition. She moved to Tokyo after graduation and worked at a hospital as a psychiatrist. She then resumed music production at home from the end of 2021. She specialises in a style where she puts melodies and lyrics on tracks from various friends she has connected with online. She co-released 'lovers fall', 'X-laser' and 'Paradox' in 2022 under the artist name 'kyy'. She changed her name to 'kiwa' in 2023, producing tracks and providing lyrics for other artists. She uses literary expressions, but also lyrics about real thoughts and feelings that people are usually hesitant to mention. Her productions are based on J-Pop, but also cover a variety of genres such as Rock, Hiphop, Electro and Acoustic. Artists she admires include amazarashi, King Gnu, James Blunt, Sam Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and EMINEM.
