Over the past few years, 80s culture has become the center of trends around the world. For example, John Mayer released an album on the theme of the "80s", and the drama "Stranger Things", which is full of 80s culture, and the sequel to "Top Gun" in 1986, "Top Gun: Maverick" was a worldwide hit. Here, snowdrop also decided to release a work that pays homage to the music of the 80's in line with this trend. The theme of this single is New Wave/Synthpop, which flourished in the 80's. To be more specific, it is an image of the songs that dominated the hit charts from 1980 to 1986. Of course, it doesn't just end with a nostalgic approach, it is a content that can be said to be "the 80's interpreted by snowdrop" such as mastering in the image of LP.
Snowdrop is a Japanese pop-rock band formed in Tokyo in the spring of 2021. The band consists of three members: Misaki Denda (vocals), Yuki Kobayashi (violin), and Toshiaki Kaito (guitar and bass). They released their debut single, 'Asuwosagashini' on July 22, 2021. Known for a unique style, their music is composed by Kaito, who is well-versed in popular music, film, and literature, sung by opera-trained Denda, and enhanced by Kobayashi's violin, rooted in classical music. The band prioritizes melody and holds a firm stance against performing covers. To date, they have released one album and nine singles, with several charting on Apple Music.
