Rain Life

Onnyomi

The anime "Pyutifi," which is currently a huge hit on YouTube, is the brainchild of Ukiyo Uzuki, who leads the music project "Onnyomi." Their debut album, "Moment," includes the theme song "Denpa" and the insert song "Hanabi" from the anime, along with five other tracks. This album is like a treasure box filled with vibrant colors of youth, bittersweet flavors of romance, and bold, experimental sounds. It feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.

The artists themselves describe their concept as "serious play under the name of an adult club activity," and indeed, the album carries a sense of the carefree atmosphere of after-school hours. Upon listening, the music might not seem fully polished; it still has a raw edge to it. However, this rawness is reminiscent of unforgettable school sports days or casual conversations with friends. It's not perfect, but this imperfection is what brings a sense of warmth and gentleness, standing in contrast to the modern tendency to strive for perfection in everything.

This is exactly how it should be. This is what makes it special.

Nowadays, anyone can achieve perfect pitch and timing with the right adjustments. But in such an era, their genuine and unvarnished expression shines brightly. Some tracks were even recorded online with members living far apart, truly embodying the spirit of Reiwa-era artists.

We look forward to seeing more from them in the future.
