  • BIG BROTHER

In may of 2013 after the break up of Toronto local skacore juggernauts Ghetto Blaster, Big Brother was founded. The original line up of Big Brother consisted of most of the core members from the final line up of Ghetto Blaster: Chris Hardcore, Ian Wilkinson and Mike Ladabrockhouse. The band's sound resembles skacore with an emphasis on the more of the hardcore punk side of things while also being litered with riffy bass lines, dueling guitars and blasting drums. Their sound is also sometimes referred to as Orwellian skacore, especially by the band in the early years when trying to establish themselves apart from other acts. Since the formation of Big Brother, there have been many line up changes but the band has gone on to independently release 1 live album, 2 Singles, 2 full length albums, 3 Split albums, and 4 EP's. Collectively being 12 releases over 8 years with moderate success for each. The band's live performances have been said to be high energy, blasting track after track. Which has afforded them the honor to play along side Canadian Punk bands such as the Dayglos Abortions, RipCordz, BFG's, The Matadors, The Mother Fuckers, The Rebel Spell ect... as well as international bands such as The Voodoo Glow Skulls, Leftover Crack, Morning Glory, The Toasters, Opposion Rising, Union Jack, UCAN'TSAYNO! ect....
