aquarium drive

In July, Nachika released Jōnetsu no Changja feat. Nachika,a collaborative track with KYO-ZON project. Inspired by her favorite food, changja (Korean spicy marinated pollock roe), the song captivated listeners with its flamenco-inspired sound, playful pop sensibility, and catchy melody.

In her latest release, Nachika tells the story of two people who are not yet lovers, sharing a brief journey home together on a rainy day. With Kim Taehoon as the arranger, the track blends the sophisticated groove of city pop with the breezy charm of indie pop, creating a sound that evokes a sense of nostalgia while revealing a new side of Nachikas musical artistry.

Driven by a sense of momentum reminiscent of a nighttime drive, the song combines Nachikas sweet, crystal-clear vocals, an infectious melody, and lyrics that subtly reveal the bittersweet feelings of being in love. The result is a light, vibrant pop number full of color and emotion.

The inspiration for the song came from a real-life experience Nachika had while walking through the city at night under a transparent umbrella. Raindrops falling onto the umbrella reflected the lights of traffic signals and shop signs, creating the illusion of fish swimming around her. The scene reminded her of an aquarium, sparking the idea behind the song.

Two people who have yet to become lovers spend a short journey home together on a rainy day. Inside their car, the world transforms into a special space that feels like an aquarium. Laughing, fooling around, and simply enjoying each others company, they share a fleeting yet precious momenta brief aquarium drivethat is as endearing as it is heartwarming.

Accompanied by dreamlike imagery, the song captures this bittersweet, irreplaceable moment in time.

The music video for the track will premiere on YouTube at 8:00 PM on the day of its digital release. Furthermore, Nachika is scheduled to hold her concept one-man live show, Nachika concept ONEMAN LIVE Midnight Aqua Park, at Shibuya LOFT HEAVEN on Sunday, November 22. Tickets have already sold out, and the rising singer-songwriter Nachika's remarkable journey is only just beginning.
