Kani Ningen released a new single "Scooping Waves" on June 19.
His previous album "yolkwhite" was selected for the official AppleMusic playlists "Jazz Scene: Japan" and "New in Alternative," the official Spotify playlists "New Music Wednesday," "Tokyo Rising," "Urban Sky and Music," " Home Bound," "Monday Spin," etc., and has garnered attention in the jazz alternative industry.
Kani Ningen has been releasing his own unique sound that crosses tracks with jazz artists.Unlike his previous work, the first single from his solo project is a completely solo soundtrack, and was created by returning to his roots in contemporary art while working on music for art events, stage music, and fashion shows.
The sound of ambient and techno with a touch of improvisation is reminiscent of James Blake, with the quality of post-production shining through.
The cover design is by contemporary artist MIYO OGAWA, as on the previous album, and mixing and mastering is by KUROMAKU, who has mixed, mastered, and produced for DADA, 018, and other Hip-Hop artists.
In addition, the second single track from this solo project will be available soon.
The work will also be performed live in a contemporary dance performance during the Toyooka Theater Festival 2024 from September 20 to 22.
