  Zzzup is a rapper who turns the flaws, weaknesses, and awkward sides of being an ordinary person into hip-hop. Rather than portraying himself as someone extraordinary, he writes from the perspective of an ordinary person who is still on the way to becoming somebody. He began rapping in 2019, during his first year of university. At his first live performance, someone complimented the beat he performed over. However, because it was not a beat he had made himself, the experience left him frustrated and motivated him to start producing his own beats around 2020. By the time he graduated from university, he had released his first album. After graduation, he continued making music while working as a city government employee. In 2024, he left his job and began pursuing music more seriously, with the goal of making a living through it. His music draws from the insecurities, relationships, everyday failures, worries, and other imperfect moments that come with ordinary life. Rather than hiding those sides of himself, he turns them into songs through relatable metaphors, wordplay, and humor. Working with a DIY approach, he handles everything from lyrics and beat production to recording, mixing, and video production himself. He currently has approximately 1,500 subscribers on YouTube, 1,200 followers on Instagram, and 860 followers on TikTok. He has released one album and 14 singles, and has created and published around 100 songs in total, including tracks released exclusively on YouTube. Throughout 2025, he released new music almost every week, and he continues to create music while posting short-form videos daily. Zzzup performs live approximately once a month at venues and events across Tokyo, including time Tokyo in Keio-Horinouchi, EVOLVER at Shibuya JUMP, and Kichijoji NEPO. In May 2026, he held his own birthday event at Kichijoji NEPO. In addition to performing, he is also involved in event planning and booking at Kichijoji NEPO. His hip-hop event wake up!!!, which he launched on November 14, 2024, has continued regularly and reaches its 40th edition in September 2026. He also runs elephance, a genreless event series launched in August 2025. Through these projects, Zzzup is not only building his own career as a rapper, but also creating spaces where other artists can perform and express themselves.
