The Word (The Grass Withers, The Flower Fades)

This song is called [The Word.]
It focuses on the Word of God.

We live surrounded by countless voices every day-
the voices of people around us,
the voices of the news and social media,
and the voices that echo within our own hearts.

In this age overflowing with information,
whose voice are you listening to?

In the beginning of the Bible, God spoke to humanity,
saying, [Where are you?]
It was not a voice of condemnation,
but a voice of love-
the voice of a God who seeks the lost.

That question was not about where you are hiding,
but rather, which voice your heart is following.

Even today, in the midst of all the noise,
God still speaks:
[Abide in My word.]

Yet, humanity chose to listen not to God's voice,
but to their own,
and to the voices of others.
In that moment, a great separation arose between God and humankind.
But God did not abandon us.
Even then, He had already prepared
the One who would bear our burden in our place.

And when the time had fully come,
the Word, full of grace and truth, became flesh-
Jesus Christ.

In the wilderness,
Jesus answered the voice of temptation with the Word of God.
And on the cross,
amidst mockery and silence,
He listened only to the Father's voice, and obeyed.

The voices we mistook,
the voices we should never have followed-
Jesus took upon Himself all their curse, guilt, and punishment,
and died in our place.

But death could not hold Him.

[O death, where is your victory?] (1 Corinthians 15:55)
Jesus rose again,
completely defeating the power of death.

And even now, the voice of God still speaks:
[Be faithful unto death,
and I will give you the crown of life.](Revelation 2:10)

The One who became our sacrifice,
who remained faithful to the very end,
now calls us to live by the Word of God.

Through this song,
in a world filled with countless voices,
we pray that you will be strengthened
to trust in God's Word
and to follow His voice.
