[Esta soy yo (This Is Me)]

[Esta soy yo]is Soluna's first original salsa song, created with gratitude and respect for their ancestors and cultural roots.

Inspired by the journey of a great-grandfather who left Okinawa for Peru, the song tells a story that connects the past with the present across time and oceans. It celebrates identity, family history, and the enduring love that continues to unite people even when they are far apart.

Born from the connection between Okinawa and Peru, the song blends the vibrant rhythms of salsa and the traditional Peruvian Festejo, weaving together Okinawan language, Spanish, and heartfelt memories and emotions.

From the past to the present, and toward the future, [Esta soy yo]is a tribute to the hopes passed down through generations and to the precious bonds that connect our lives. It is a song for everyone who embraces their roots and walks forward with pride, saying, [This is me.]

Artist Profile

  • Soluna

Soluna sound is a mixture of Latin flavor (thanks to their Latin musical background ) and their own unique groove, which is spiced up with the essence of Okinawan traditional music. Their music breaks barriers and can be enjoyed from little kids to Big adults at the same time, putting a smile in your heart, and making you dance and sing even if you don't know the lyrics, and your don't how to move. That is their magic. In 2021, the song "Tinsagu nu Hana Sevillanas", released as the first part of a new challenge of "Okinawa x Flamenco", created a great response in the flamencos. In 2023, they performed at JAPAN WEEK held in Sevilla, Spain, where the flamenco originated. And all four stages at the venues were a great success. In 2024, they will release their new album "Alegria", which was produced based on their experience in Spain.
