Originally released in arcades in 2008, Illmatic Envelope, commonly known as Illvelo, returns here as the original soundtrack to the latest title in the series, Illvelo Swamp.
Although the album spans a substantial total of fifty eight tracks, once you begin listening it flows smoothly, and before you realize it you find yourself having reached the very end. In a sense, it enters the listener's ears with a smoothness that runs counter to the game's eccentric and striking visual style.
Extremely distorted kicks, synthesizers that evoke nostalgia, unsettling voice samples, obsessively chopped and meticulously ordered noise, and basslines that writhe deep beneath the surface. The restrained, carefully scattered loops crafted by Nagata and Hayashi of k.h.d.n. are woven into a comfortable soundscape that invites the listener to relive the entire experience, from the instant a button is pressed on the title screen to the dazed state that lingers after playing through the game.
Within the game itself, this work can become a small golden key, offering a faint glimmer of light amid the seemingly unreasonable mysteries that are relentlessly thrown at the player and layered upon them.
To coincide with its release on streaming platforms, this soundtrack has been newly remastered.
Unit by Ko Hayashi and Daisuke Nagata. Colors a series of STG game series such as Radirgy, Karous, and ILLVELO with sounds based on bass music such as house music and drum'n'bass. He still produces and provides music and remixes in various areas. It is said that it will not be dissolved because it is not formed, but the truth is not certain. I don't even know what each other is doing now.
