On a bridge, two men brush shoulders as they pass.

It should have ended there.

"Hey."

The man turns around with a mocking smile.

"What? You got a problem?"

Bow your head, and it ends right here.
There's still time to walk away.

But one word leads to another-
an insult given, an insult returned.

As long as the blade remains sheathed,
there is still time.

"Kirisute Gomen" is inspired by the Edo-period concept of burei-uchi-the right of a samurai to respond to a grave insult-and captures the tense exchange in the moments before a sword is drawn.

Bouncing shamisen riffs and a swinging groove collide with deep 808s, bringing the quiet menace of an Edo night into Detroit Trap.

It's not that I want to cut you down.

If you're going to apologize,
now's the time.

But still-

"If you think you can cut me down, go ahead."
