Mariko A Singer Who Continues to Shine from the 80s to Today Mariko made her debut in 1986 with Watakushi Hoshi Densetsu and won the 28th Japan Record Award for Best New Artist that same year with her single Yume Hikou. With her crystal clear voice and pure charm she captivated many fans and delivered hit songs such as Oyome ni Ikitai and Anata no Umi ni Naritai. After resuming her entertainment career in 2013 she released her first mini album in 23 years La Porte in 2016 produced by lyricist Goro Matsui and composer arranger Etsuko Yamakawa. In 2017 she followed up with the single On Myself / Shiawase no Blue showcasing an even more refined and mature vocal presence. In 2021 she celebrated her 35th debut anniversary with the album Songs & Me. Despite the challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic she held special live concerts in Tokyo and Fukuoka captivating audiences with her timeless voice. Every summer she hosts her Birthday Live event which draws dedicated fans from all over Japan and consistently sells out. Additionally she launched the Idol Night project reconnecting with fellow 80s idols and sharing the eras charm through talk events.
