This is a pre-release single from the newly recorded Ghibli song cover compilation "Café Après-midi Meets Studio Ghibli," featuring 12 super-talented artists and themed around "afternoon coffee-like happiness," supervised and selected by Toru Hashimoto (SUBURBIA), with artwork by Jiro Fujita (FJD) and mastered by Calm!
Since releasing her first album in 2015, Yuuga, a wonderful singer-songwriter whose voice has captivated listeners and who has perfected her unique musical style that evolves from folk to soul/R&B, and Takuro Okada, a highly trusted guitarist/producer who also sound-produced her masterpiece album "Love Deluxe" and has participated in the works of various artists, have collaborated perfectly to create this Ghibli song: a cover of Aoi Teshima's "Teru's Song," the theme song from Goro Miyazaki's 2006 film "Tales from Earthsea." Yuuga's voice, which portrays the original song's lullaby-like worldview in a deeper, more serene, and spiritual way, is exceptional and possesses a unique presence. Okada Takuro's arrangement further enhances the fantastical and gently seeping resonance of the song, inviting you into a peaceful harmony of sounds like a quiet utopia. With its understated presence, yet bearing the fruit of rich spirituality, this is the birth of a supreme and exquisite cover.
