Chiba-based indie band good food released their debut album, Lights Out, And Away We Go, on April 26, 2026.

Formed in March 2025, the four-piece band is known for their sound that blends introspective lyrics with shoegaze-inspired textures, anchored in alternative rock. Completed just a year after their formation, the album features seven tracks, including I Hate a New Dawn, which portrays inescapable inner struggles like insomnia, anxiety, and self-loathing, and Nancy, which channels thoughts of despair through the symbolic figure of Nancy. Each song carries a raw and heartfelt authenticity.

As its title Lights Out, And Away We Go suggests, the album is not about endings but new beginnings. Opening with the candid admission, "Same as always, I can't sleep at night," it navigates pain, contradictions, and unavoidable realities. Yet it ultimately closes with a resolute voice declaring, "I'll set out."

The album captures the faint but unmistakable determination to keep moving forward, even in the face of despair.
