Inspired by the biggest dog in the world "Great Dane",
describing Japanese people's ferocity contrary to their cute appearance.
So many of you think "Japanese is closed mind, shy and modest".
Unfortunately that is not true!
WE ARE NOT ONLY CUTE THO
With looped Koto melody and agressive kick,
it's the time to be real Japanese!!
Yamato Watanabe is an alternative R&B artist based in Tokyo, originally from Hokkaido, Japan. Through dark and emotional soundscapes, his music explores the inner landscapes of human emotion, identity, and personal growth. He first began creating socially reflective and experimental music rooted in pop and hip-hop. Over time, his artistic direction gradually evolved toward a more emotional and introspective R&B style. This shift became clear with the release of cantgetyouout, which marked a turning point in his sound. Since then, he has continued shaping his musical identity under the influence of modern R&B artists such as Lekan, Coco Jones, Geovion, and Tone Stith. From an early age, he was also inspired by artists like Miliyah Kato and Shota Shimizu, which deepened his interest in melody and emotional storytelling. Having studied piano since childhood and grown up around classical music, he incorporates piano-driven arrangements and classical sensibilities into his work. The result is a distinctive sound where modern R&B atmospheres meet the emotional depth of classical influence. His music reflects emotions born from love, conflict, self-discovery, and the pursuit of becoming a better version of oneself. Blending English lyrics with subtle touches of Japanese, Yamato Watanabe continues to pursue an R&B sound that resonates across borders.
