The Way Home Through Osmanthus

HITOKOE

    The Way Home Through Osmanthus

    HITOKOE

On a cool autumn evening, the scent of osmanthus suddenly brings back memories she thought had faded away.

The way she holds a warm can of coffee, the empty space she unconsciously leaves beside her on a park bench, the habit of standing to one side while waiting for the light to change-memories remain not in dramatic moments, but in the smallest gestures of everyday life.

The seasons move on, and the city slowly changes with them.
Yet some habits take longer to disappear.

Then one evening, she catches herself drifting to the side of the road as she always did. This time, she notices-and quietly walks down the middle on her own.

"The Way Home Through Osmanthus" is not a song about forgetting someone. It is a song about the subtle moment when the traces they left in your daily life begin to fade, little by little.

The scent of osmanthus, a cooling can of coffee, the dry sound of fallen leaves beneath her feet-
a bittersweet autumn song set just before the season turns cold enough for breath to become white.
