This album, "Gravity and Repulsion," is Kenji Fujita's second album, following his debut album "Magnetic Pilgrimage," which traversed various genres such as psychedelia, acid folk, avant-pop, and electronic music, and was constructed using tape collage techniques.
While retaining the fairytale-like and psychedelic worldview of their first album, the vocals and melodies come to the forefront. The songs, created using a variety of instruments such as guitar, piano, and synthesizers, are brought together with the unique texture of cassette tape, creating a sonic world that is both genre-less and strangely nostalgic.
The album has been remastered by Hiromitsu Shoji (soundworm, Tsuki No Wa), who also handled the mastering for the CD version released by MAGIC BOOK RECORDS in 2008.
The illustrations embodying the album's worldview are by Katsuyuki Hoshino, who has created artwork for books and various other media.
In the late 2000s, he released three CDs, reconstructing folk and pop music with a lo-fi, tape-collage-like approach and a somewhat oriental melody, with watercolor-like, blurred soundscapes. After a 15-year hiatus, he resumed his creative activities.
