This track was created for the "CONTINUUM" project, a homage to two masters, Johannes Vermeer and Hieronymus Bosch.
At its core is a contrasting sound structure, expressing Vermeer's "tranquil light" with high-frequency digital particles and Bosch's "fantastical chaos" with unpredictable, undulating synthesizer modulation. The powerful beat and heavy bass line symbolize the sense of loneliness of the collapsed buildings and wilderness depicted in the images. However, as the song progresses, the uplifting melody elevates, vividly depicting the "sign of rebirth" symbolized by the giant wings of light appearing in the sky.
Based on a deep respect for classical art, this work, sublimated into a contemporary electronic sound, embodies a "continuum of expression" that continues seamlessly from the past to the future. This dramatic piece captures the moment when a pilgrim stands in a devastated world, tracing the memories of light as he steps into a new era.
Nuearz is a solo project by Japanese artist Kazuhiro Okuda. He has released two albums, "Saturation Point" and "Face Lift," from the UK label Skam Records. Additionally, he has released two albums, "Last Straw" and "Funny Bone," from his own label Logica et Natura. He also participated in the compilation album "A Sign 2" by the new Osaka label Remodel. The CDs released by Skam Records are notable not only for their original music but also for the designs by two renowned artists, Chantal Michel and Fernando F. Fonseca. Nuearz's composition style involves reinterpreting synthesizer preset sounds and music samples as pure sound movements, liberated from their historical and contextual backgrounds. By combining sounds that have never been heard before, he awakens hidden contexts and fragments of history within the music, leading to the creation of new contexts.
