SHIFT never aims to be obscure; we strive to create music everyone can enjoy listening to. Ultimately, we selfishly believe that songs we ourselves enjoy will surely resonate with our listeners.
This time, the song we invite you to enjoy evokes a sense of floating.
= This time, the experience is like flying in a car under a moonlit night.
There's a song by Yumi Arai that likens driving on the highway to gliding, and it's a great song that really paints a picture, right? We crafted Air Moon to evoke the sensation of soaring through the night on the highway inside a car, accompanied by a massive sound.
There have been songs before that let you feel that sense of floating while driving, but they often included key changes or improvisations midway, creating a bit of a jarring feeling just when you were getting into it. This time, I deliberately crafted the song by removing those parts.
Generally, songs incorporate key changes or rhythm shifts in the arrangement to prevent the melody from becoming monotonous. This time, I challenged that convention. The song simply repeats the initial melody phrase over and over. It feels like you could listen to it forever if it had a repeat function. It might sound a bit self-indulgent and unpleasant to listen to, but please bear with me. The intro evokes the image of an airplane taxiing down the runway at night, preparing for takeoff. As a creative touch, we let the strings play freely, so even we never tire of listening to it.
Air Moon. We hope you enjoy it.
