The Tree Fairy

Lily Shrimp, a two-piece guitar/vocal unit consisting of Risa and Ayuna, will release their debut album, Mori ga suki e.p., in mid-April on Myobel Records.

Lily Shrimp is a new unit formed just last year. It features twin vocals from a double frontman, with Risa and Ayuna each performing guitar vocals. Risa had previously released a work on Universal Music as SUGARCLIP, but left the music scene in 2020.

Their debut song "Mori ga suki" (The Tree Fairy) was written by songwriter Risa when she was in high school, and although it had been performed several times at live events, it was a treasured work that had not been made into a soundtrack, including in her past band days. In addition to drummer Shin Akama and bassist Koichi Oyama (OYAMANGA, ex.NONA REEVES) as support musicians, the recording of this work featured pianist Hirofumi Nishimura, violinists Mai Tanizaki and Reina Nanbu, violist Keiko Tanaka and cellist Ayumi Hashimoto. A number of talented musicians participate in the project, including a string quartet formed by four cellists.

The artwork features specially made paper cut-outs for the film by KEN, a popular primary schools paper cut-out creator who has recently attracted attention for his goods sold at pop-up shops across the country, held a solo exhibition of original artwork at Ginza Mitsukoshi and was recently appointed Nogata Hometown Support Ambassador. The theme of this impressive work is 'The Tree Fairy', and features the pseudo-cat-like Risa and Ayuna playing with guitars.
