This track, "Mists," centers on a pop-infused jazz sound while weaving in edgy breakbeats and elements inspired by 2010s EDM, such as vocal chops. Going beyond the boundaries of jazz, it boldly incorporates stylish elements from a wide range of genres. truly showcasing Gaku Kano's pursuit of "Experimental Jazz."

A key highlight of the piece is the coexistence of intricately crafted, high-speed analog drum grooves and smooth, mellow melodic lines.

Supporting the track behind the scenes are harmonies rooted in post-2000 neo-soul, performed on real analog synthesizers, adding a subtle but distinctive spice to the sound.

Even in today's era of remarkable advances in AI music, this track values the uniquely human warmth and feel that only live performance can bring. The drums, analog synthesizers, vocoder, and other elements were recorded through real performances rather than programming, using live instruments.

The vocoder, in particular, elevates the track with colorful tones inspired by Casey Benjamin.

Like his other works, this track was composed for the live performance in mind for Gaku Kano's lead project, SLIDEDGE. (A live version of the track is also available on YouTube.) It aims to achieve a rich, band-like sound that goes beyond simple multitrack production.
