我々が生きる現代社会は、
目まぐるしい変化の中にあります。
人間に限らず、生物というものは
誕生した瞬間から、周囲の個体との競争や
環境への適応といった、避けられないストレスに
常に晒されています。これが生物の宿命と言えるでしょう。
結果として、どのような手段であれ、
生存権を勝ち取った個体だけが生き残り、
その遺伝や経験は次の世代へと引き継がれていきます。
この繰り返しによって、生物の歴史は続いてきました。
しかし、この「輪廻」に私は非常に強い
違和感を覚えています。
「社会の冷酷さへの違和感
人間社会が単なる競争に過ぎず、
未来をあゆむ権利を勝ち取れなかった人々が消えていくのが
当然のことだとするならば、
そのような環境は極めて残酷だと
言わざるを得ません。
この「当然」とされるかこくな状況に、
私はどうしても納得することができず、
いわかんをぬぐいさることができないのです。
私は、この残酷さに対する「わるあがき」として、
何かを変えるこころみをしています。
その一つのこころみが、
この空間の創造なのです。

yoko405 (Yoko Yonmarugo) is an artist based in Kochi, Japan, engaging in diverse creative expressions. Her work spans from producing study music to collaborating with various artists, as well as creating and sharing digital content. Her notable work "I like you" was released in collaboration with a female band vocalist active in Japan, presented in two languages. Since then, she has continued to release multiple works in collaboration with painters, musicians, designers, and other creators across different fields. From jazz-based saxophone pieces to multilingual compositions, yoko405 explores a wide range of musical expressions.
