Music unit Nibi will release a digitally distributed single "Floss Silk" on February 3, 2024.
Nibi was started in February 2021 by composer Tomoya Omura and singer-songwriter Norie Takahashi, and in April 2022, they released their first work, a film without footage, ``Mizu no Hoshi''. This work, which is Nibi's first digital distribution release, is based on the theme of "self-destructive behavior" and is a work that reaches out to all those who live with pain.
The music video for the song will also be released on Nibi's official YouTube channel. The director is Seiya Ito, who also worked on the music video for Jacob Collier's ``Little Blue,'' and the guest dancer is Erika Taniguchi, who also works as a backup dancer for Chanmina and Leina. You can feel the deep compassion that dwells within the dark worldview. It is a video work.
Nibi is an electronic music unit formed by vocalist Norie Takahashi and composer Tomoya Omura. The two artists, who had been building their careers as a singer-songwriter and a film composer respectively, began collaborating during the pandemic and officially formed the project in 2020. Rooted in club music, Nibi creates electronic soundscapes built through a genre-crossing, experimental approach. Their music blends meticulously constructed production with Takahashi's vocals-both transparent and powerful-and introspective lyrics, exploring emotional fluctuations and the depths of the inner self while shaping a distinct sonic world. After passing the live audition "RINGOO A GO-GO" they performed at Ringo Music Festival 2025 in September. Their immersive live performances-where introspective lyrics meet sounds that sink deep into the body-have been gaining recognition not only within the music scene but also in art spaces such as galleries in Tokyo.
