Music unit Nibi will release a digitally distributed single "Floss Silk" on February 3, 2024.
Nibi was started in February 2021 by composer Tomoya Omura and singer-songwriter Norie Takahashi, and in April 2022, they released their first work, a film without footage, ``Mizu no Hoshi''. This work, which is Nibi's first digital distribution release, is based on the theme of "self-destructive behavior" and is a work that reaches out to all those who live with pain.
The music video for the song will also be released on Nibi's official YouTube channel. The director is Seiya Ito, who also worked on the music video for Jacob Collier's ``Little Blue,'' and the guest dancer is Erika Taniguchi, who also works as a backup dancer for Chanmina and Leina.You can feel the deep compassion that dwells within the dark worldview. Nibi is Norie Takahashi and Tomoya Omura Musical Unit Formed in 2020, this duo combines Omura meticulously crafted electronic soundscapes with Takahashi transparent and powerful vocals to weave introspective lyrics. In 2022, they produced the film-less movie Mizu no Hoshi through crowdfunding. In April 2024, they released the digital single Floss Silk along with its music video. Later, on July 31, they unveiled a six-track EP titled Membrane. To celebrate the release, they held their first-ever live performance at an art gallery, Kouen, in Nakameguro on August 31. On March 26, 2025, they released their fourth digital single, From Snow. This track captures the silence of snowfall and the ache of restrained emotions through delicate melodies and dark electronic sounds, vividly portraying wavering love and lingering pain. On March 29, they released the music video for the track. Set against the backdrop of snow-covered mountains, the video intertwines madness and compassion, bringing the song world to life. The cinematic visuals amplify the track sense of pain and prayer, making it even more striking. While focusing on production, they continue to perform live at galleries and live houses across Tokyo, pursuing a form of expression that can only be born through their unique world and performances.
