'13artists×3works' is a long-term project by drummer and improvisational artist SHIN KOKAWA, featuring collaborations with 13 groups of 17 visionary artists to create a total of 39 tracks.
The second installment features ermhoi, a producer/singer with roots in both Japan and Ireland who seamlessly navigates diverse genres.
In addition to collaborating with prominent Japanese musicians of her generation such as Shun Ishiwaka, Daiki Tsuneta, and Ayatake Ezaki, she has performed with world-renowned artists like Eiko Ishibashi, Jim O'Rourke, Phew, and Codeine .In recent years, she has also been active as a member of Black Boboi alongside her solo work.
This collaboration offers a glimpse into a fantastical world, where three tracks unfold like a single suite.

  • SHIN KOKAWA

    In his pursuit of live drum expression, improvisational artist SHIN KOKAWA resonates with Japanese spirituality, including indigenous nature worship and the sublime concepts of Zen. He internalizes a diverse range of genres: free jazz, spiritual jazz, world music, ambient, and hardcore. By infusing the primitive, powerful, and beautiful sounds of his instruments with the raw intuition of the moment, he creates soundscapes that depict the vastness of the universe. Making his major debut as a founding member of the instrumental band jizue (founded in 2006), Kokawa has performed at numerous large-scale festivals in Japan and abroad, including the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. Since embarking on a solo career in 2019, he has released his 1st album 'ANIMA' (2020) and a 2nd album 'touch the sub conscious' (2024), which features collaborations with renowned artists such as Seiichi Yamamoto, Shing02, and Shun Ishiwaka. He is also an active member of the Kyoto-based experimental band kott, with whom he performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2023. In 2026, he launched '13 ARTIST X 3 WORKS,' an ambitious project featuring collaborations with 13 different artists and 39 tracks to be released consecutively every week.

    A producer and singer with roots in both Japan and Ireland, ermhoi seamlessly blends genres across her music. In 2015, she released her debut album Junior Refugee on Salvaged Tapes. Her diverse career includes composing music for films, TV commercials, and art exhibitions, as well as remixing, providing vocals, synthesizers, and backing vocals. She has performed with globally recognized artists like Eiko Ishibashi, Jim O'Rourke, Phew, Shun Ishiwaka. In 2018, she formed black boboi with Utena Kobayashi and Julia Shortreed, performing at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 19 on the Red Marquee stage. In 2023, she performed at Mutek.JP, and in 2024, she participated in an artist residency exchange program between Berlin and Tokyo, marking her first successful international performance. She has participated in 2025 Venice biennale as a composer and sound designer for Japan Pavilion. Her singles Seagull and Bear and soundscape album MADO is currently available for streaming. In 2026, she collaborated with SHIN KOKAWA for the project '13 ARTIST X 3 WORKS,' featuring 39 tracks to be released consecutively over 13 weeks.
