Ginga Soup's new single, *fast delay*, draws on the organic textures of folk and Americana, incorporating elements of ambient music and drone.
Japanese-language vocals and experimental sound processing blur the boundaries between songwriting and sound design, with sonic textures playing an integral role in the composition itself. Subtle noise and fragments of sound emerge and fade, echoing the accompanying artwork, while repetitive minimalist phrases and shifts in dynamics create a distinctive sense of time and movement.
Retaining the character of American roots music while expanding traditional folk structures through experimental production techniques, *fast delay* moves between ambient music and avant-pop.
Ginga Soup is a Tokyo-based music project led by Eitetsu Nakamura. Rooted in Japanese-language songwriting, its music drifts between folk, ambient, and experimental sounds. Weaving together acoustic textures, electronics, repetition, and elements of chance, it explores the layers of time embedded in everyday scenes and emotions that have yet to find words. The album *bed* features contributions from U-zhaan and Takuro Okada. Ginga Soup's music has also been featured on *RADIO SAKAMOTO*, the J-WAVE radio program hosted by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The voice feels close, almost whispered, while its echoes drift into distant landscapes. At its heart are the delicate, unpredictable shifts that emerge where song and sound meet.
