Moss-covered Sakura Honcho: Ogura Shikishi Itoiku Smoke

[Origin: Loss of Shikishi and Infidelity]
The Kanbara family, a samurai household, is experiencing an incident in which their prized "Ogura Shikishi" (Ogura Shikishi) is lost. Their master, Sagoro Kanbara, is having an affair (and an affair) with his lady-in-waiting, Koito, but the loss of the Shikishi puts them in a difficult position.

[The Nakaneya Situation and Tsunagoro]
Tsunagoro, the son of the Nakaneya thread store in Honmachi 2-chome, was disowned for excessive debauchery and now lives as a beggar and fortune teller, calling himself Hanasaki Tsunagoro. By chance, he reunites with his mother, Myokan, and her sister, Ofusa.
In fact, Ofusa is to work for Sagorō (either as a substitute or to settle the matter of the missing shikishi), or to be adopted/married away.

[Iwafuji's Malice and Torture]
Iwafuji, the elderly woman of the Kanbara household (who plays the spiteful role of the inner sanctum), suspects that Koito is pregnant with Sagorō's child and relentlessly harasses her, even trying to force her to take an abortion drug.

[Resolution and Conclusion]
Tsunagorou confronts his former comrades, Yamazumi Goheita and Hanji Kurobei, who are now allies.
To protect Saragourou, Ofusa, and the family's honor, Tsunagorou defeats his enemies and recovers the lost "Ogura Shikishi." Ultimately, the villains are punished, the family heirloom is returned, and order is restored.

Excerpt from the actual script
"Kimigayo... For a thousand generations, a thousand pebbles...
Growing into rocks and covered in moss... How auspicious."

How wonderful, how interesting.
How wonderful, how interesting. Even if I were to hand over the Shikishi...
The green pine needles found in the garden.
The blue smoke of stirring reproach.
My precious Ogura Shikishi. Last year, at a temple in Asakusa.
I'm now a wanderer due to theft.
If I have any sense, what kind of oath can I make?
...What benefit would there be from stealing this Shikishi?
