His journey into Okinawan music began in the late 1990s, when he was captivated by a bus guide's singing during his first trip to Okinawa. Deeply moved by traditional Okinawan folk songs, he began practicing the sanshin (a traditional three-stringed instrument) at the age of 21-devoting up to eight hours a day to mastering the craft. He officially launched his career as a sanshin singer and performer in 2001. Alongside his artistic pursuits, he has gained broad experience in welfare and education, grounding his work in a deep understanding of people and community. His career as a sanshin artist is marked by both dedication and versatility. Under the banner of the "Nii Jun Show," he has performed at a wide range of events across Japan. His notable appearances include the 2014 Japan Festival in Sriracha, Thailand, and the Tenma Tenjin Hanjotei Rakugo Theater in Osaka since 2021. Driven by a desire to create inclusive performances that transcend generations and disabilities, Jun continues to perform with passion and heart.
