This is a reflection work of Kenji Fujita's original CD album, "In the Suburb of this planet," released in 2009.
To express the passage of time, the album has been reconstructed into two works, using lo-fi sound processing, including repeated dubbing of cassette tapes.
The rough, worn sound quality and melodies reminiscent of nursery rhymes evoke the dreams, reality, and life histories of city dwellers. The soundscape of the suburb can be described as a shady garden dedicated to those who have lost their homes.

Kenji Fujita is a Japanese musician weaving blurred suburban folklore from a 4.5-tatami room in Hachioji, Tokyo. Under the banner of "suburban bedroom folklore," he pursues an avant-pop style where acid folk and electronics melt together. Resuming his journey in 2025 after a 16-year silence, Fujita uses cassette tape modulation and effects-driven sonic manipulation to layer temporalities-as if tuning into another space from the starting point of his immediate room. Moving beyond simple nostalgia, his sound evokes a hauntological space shimmering with the remnants of daily life and the undercurrents of the mundane. Through a maze-like world of layered recordings, he has established a truly singular presence.
