Still Missing

I put it into words because I did not want to forget.
Because if I ever forgot, it would be as if we had never met in the first place, as if none of it had ever existed.
I turned it into sound because I did not want to lose it.
And still, no matter how many songs I wrote, it was never enough.

"Spring Night" captures memories in words, and a little of what I truly felt in sound, as the seasons quietly passed by.
"Halcyon Days" was written for the days I can never return to, and for the person I used to be.
"Until That Day Comes" carries the fear of forgetting, along with a promise to hold on until the day I can no longer bear the weight of it all.
"torch" gives form to a voice that remains like a flame, somewhere between the world where you were and the world where you are no longer.
"Insomnia" portrays sleepless nights caught between time that has come to a standstill and a world that keeps moving forward.
And as the seasons came full circle and summer returned once again, "Summer Calm" carved into song the proof that you and I were truly there together that summer.

Each song may have painted a different landscape, but the same person was always there.

No matter how hard I try to explain it through reason, some things simply cannot be explained.
And the more I put into words, the more there is left to say, like pouring water onto parched sand only to watch it disappear.

The album closes with its title track, "Still Missing," a song that embodies those days themselves.

If I were to put my life into words, I could sum it up in just three words.
But when I try to write about you, no number of words could ever be enough.

I long to feel whole, yet I know that if I ever did, I might lose the very reason I keep writing.
So I continue, still not knowing where the heart belongs, how to forget, or even how to say goodbye.

This song, and this album, were never meant to be an answer.
They are a record of me continuing to chase the shadow of you, someone I can now only portray through memory, through this resounding world I find myself walking through today.

Words are not enough.
Sound is not enough.
Songs are still not enough.

And perhaps they never will be.
