トイミュージック、実験音楽のシリーズ作品、
“Symphony” という名の全16 曲。
ピアノの音をベースに彼が試みる” Symphony”。
そこに交わるのはトイピアノやピアニカ、グロッケン、ウクレレなどの楽音だけではありません。
鳥の囀り、カメラのシャッター音、タンブラードールのチャイムの音、砂時計の音。
さらには、窓を開ける、海辺を歩く、紙を裂く、電話をかける、時報を聞く、
その行為そのものが音楽の中に溶け合い、そこに紛れもない” Symphony” が生まれています。
ギリシア語で「共に」（syn)「鳴る音」(phōnē) が 語源のこの言葉は、
交響曲という意味だけでなく、色彩や音響の調和といったニュアンスでも使われます。
世界のさまざまな要素が影響を及ぼし合い、調和し、豊かな効果を生み出しているさま。
それがこの作品で言うところの ” Symphony” です。
CITY (2019)、Raining to Hear (2020) 以降、
「音楽素材の拡大」が彼の作品のテーマのひとつのようです。
それは20 世紀以降、脈々と続く現代音楽のひとつのムーブメントと重なりますが、
アカデミズムとは全く無縁の、それに対する彼流のポップで温かなアンサーを、
私たちはこの作品から受け取ったような気がします。
アルバムには、
Symphony I / Nostalgique ( ピアノとトイピアノとベニアメリカムシクイとウインドチャイムのために) 、
Symphony IX / Épisodique ( ピアノと2 台のトイピアノと冬の鵠沼海岸のために) 他、全16 曲を収録。
ジャケット・アートワークは前原 本光氏。

Iwamura Ryuta
Born in Niigata City, currently resides in Tokyo. Composer and pianist. A collection of 24 dimensional piano pieces consisting of musical fragments, "Sunday Impression" and "Monday Impression" "Reading to Hear" a solo piano album paradoxically titled from "reading" to "listening". "Tokyo Reminder" takes a film music approach. "City" is a collage of urban noise & music. Raining to Hear" explores the boundaries between rain sounds and music. "Symphony" incorporates the actions of everyday life into music, with toy instruments at its core. These works constantly question the nature of music and the way we listen to music.
