Japan's first female Prime Minister has been born. My outlook has instantly brightened. Just until recently, things had been unbearably tough, but with the change in leadership, I'm filled with hope. However, nothing has changed yet (which is understandable since it hasn't even been a week since the leader changed). In present-day Japan, more than half of one's income is taken away by taxes and social insurance premiums. I've heard there are people who don't pay them, and also that people who have just arrived from abroad are receiving universal insurance or welfare benefits without paying taxes. However, as the coalition has changed, I'm hopeful that such unreasonable things will disappear. My husband and I have lived diligently, neither smoking nor drinking, and not eating out, but we are utterly exhausted from having more than half of our income exploited for the sake of foreigners and people who receive welfare benefits without working in Japan. I release this song with the hope that it will reach Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's ears.
