SAKUra is a Tokyo based Singer Song Girl who transforms her deep fascination with history, philosophy, and classical texts into contemporary pop music. She draws inspiration from ancient words, forgotten stories, and timeless ideas, such as the teachings of Confucius, reimagining them through melody, rhythm, and emotion, rather than academic explanation. She made her debut in 2021 at the age of ten. Since then, she has released five digital singles and two analog vinyl records through Disk Union. Her music reflects a deep curiosity about the past and a desire to bring old thoughts and ideas into the present moment. Light, danceable, and quietly thoughtful, her sound has been described as a new form of philosophy pop, created from a teenage perspective that is both honest and imaginative.
