Eternal love continues to sing long after time has passed.
"Taj Mahal" is the sixth chapter of the World Heritage series by RIN & THE CONTINUUM. Inspired by the world's most celebrated monument to love, this modern jazz piano trio explores devotion, loss, remembrance, and the quiet beauty of a love that transcends time.
The composition begins with a solitary piano, each note unfolding like a personal memory. Gradually, Luca Moretti's warm upright bass joins the conversation, followed by Malik Johnson's delicate brushwork, creating a gentle heartbeat beneath the melody. As the music grows, the trio develops the theme through expressive improvisation and rich modern jazz harmony, while always preserving the emotional simplicity of the original melody.
Not brilliance, but sincerity.
Not complexity, but unforgettable melody.
Through the intimate dialogue of piano, bass, and drums, "Taj Mahal" becomes a musical tribute to enduring love, capturing the grace, elegance, and timeless spirit of one of the world's most iconic monuments.
RIN & THE CONTINUUM is a modern jazz piano trio led by Japanese pianist Rin Todo. Combining extraordinary technical ability with cinematic storytelling, the trio creates instrumental music that moves freely between modern jazz, fusion, rock, and contemporary classical influences. Rin Todo piano playing ranges from delicate silence to explosive virtuosity, transforming complex meter changes and modulations into emotional expression. Italian bassist Luca Moretti brings melodic fluidity and deep momentum to the trio, while American drummer Malik Johnson reshapes the music atmosphere through overwhelming groove and rhythmic precision. Rather than simply showcasing technical skill, the trio music explores the tension between stillness and motion, intellect and emotion, chaos and beauty, creating an experience that feels more like a film than a conventional jazz performance.
