The Conanimal Project proposes a new style of animal welfare activities with the slogan "A Life of Dignity for Animals."
Listen, sing, and dance to save (SKU).
The third track in the project is based almost entirely on a poem written by Conanimal's producer, Zinney Imasato-a lyricist and animal welfare activist-when she was just 11 years old.
The first vocal for this song is performed by Sakina, a singer-songwriter who also sang the second track, "The Words I Longed to Say." Initially recorded as a demo on the same day as "Words I Wanted to Say," Sakina's straightforward and unembellished vocals added vibrant colors to a poem written decades ago, drawing listeners into a "Garden of Eden" from a distant past where humans and animals lived in harmony.
Time may pass, but her unchanged spirit remains vivid. The lyrics capture the formative experience that sparked Zinney Imasato's dedication to animal rescue, her sense of helplessness as a young girl, and her resolve to make a difference-all expressed through the words of an 11-year-old.
The project's name doubles as the artist name: "Conanimal." The unit was founded in 2024 by Zinney Imasato, an animal whisperer, lyricist, and animal welfare activist, and Ryō Matsui, a former guitarist for The Brilliant Green and a dog lover, to advocate for animal protection activities.
All of Conanimal's songs are composed of messages from animals, conveying gratitude toward them or exploring human-animal relationships. The name "Conanimal" was coined by Zinney Imasato and embodies her wish for the term to become a catchphrase representing the true coexistence of humans and animals and the realization of a barrier-free society.
As with previous works, this song features a unique hybrid of inorganic and organic voices, offering a new chemical reaction between Sakina and the project
Conanimal was founded by two passionate animal advocates: Ryo Matsui, former guitarist of The brilliant green, and Zinney Imasato, a lyricist, animal welfare activist, and animal whisperer. The unit was created through the shared commitment they both hold toward animals. The voices of the animals that Zinney Imasato has encountered and listened to over many years, combined with the musical sensibility and sound craftsmanship that Ryo Matsui has developed throughout his career, form the foundation of Conanimal. Through this fusion, Conanimal has grown into more than a musical unit. It has become a project that presents new ways to engage with animal welfare through music. A defining characteristic of Conanimal is its unique approach of changing the vocalist for each song. This is not a simple guest appearance. It is a philosophy that welcomes the voice most suitable for the theme of each piece. By selecting the voice that best reflects the story and message of the animals behind each song, the world of Conanimal becomes more dimensional, sincere, and emotionally resonant. With the addition of new and talented young musicians, the renewed New Conanimal continues to expand its creative reach and evolve its activities.
