The Man Who Walked

KYOKASHO RECORDS

There was a man who walked. (He walked!)

A man who never fought with his hands. (He walked!)

He was a lawyer who saw discrimination on a train —

Put off the car, though he held the ticket that was true

He was a man that chose to protest without pain to others

A fight that hurt no one — a fight that only grew

The British ruled the colony in those days

A tax on salt — expensive, unfair — that was the spark

He stood up slow, in his quiet ways:

"We will walk to the sea. We will walk from the dark."

The man who walked! (Thousands of kilometers!)

The followers who joined! (Thousands of feet!)

Words are power. Words are light —

And the human rights that rise cannot know defeat

He was arrested. He sat in jail —

A man who smiled at the guards who locked the door

"Even if you jail the body, the march will not fail

The violence you use is yours. Not ours. Not anymore."

At that time, the world was watching, holding breath

A march that started small became a sea that could not dry

Independence came — a morning that outlived his death

A legacy that walks in everyone who asks the reason why

The man who walked! (And we still walk!)

The words that rose! (And they still rise!)

Words are power. Words are light —

The effective truth is the one that never lies

There was a man who walked

There is a road that waits. — Walk on. Walk on

Sentanbun - Movement 3: Words Have Stayed

    KYOKASHO RECORDS

WORD WORLD (Uta-tan) Disc 3 "Grade 9"

An album where every word and grammar point from the junior-high English textbook becomes a lyric. Built around Japan's NEW HORIZON 3 curriculum, with cross-reference tables for other major textbooks on every track page.

All 12 songs form a graduation album: in their third spring, the world finally comes to Kai, Bird, and Mina. The musical backbone is choir - the one form of music every Japanese ninth-grader shares. Present perfect looks back on three years, relative clauses call old friends home, the subjunctive mood turns toward hope, and the final track brings everyone back to the melody of Track 1.

Track 13, "Sentanbun (Movement 3)," is a bonus track that packs all 419 words of the third-year vocabulary list into a single six-and-a-half-minute song. Across all three grades, the trilogy covers Japan's full 1,486-word junior-high vocabulary in about 19 minutes total.
