2007年、メンバーチェンジを経た後期INDWATがHD MTRによる完全DIY制作で作り上げたバンド最後の3曲入りEP。録音スタジオやエンジニアなどの時間的制約から解放された彼らは、多重録音・ボコーダー・実験的エフェクトによる隠しギミックまで、やりたい表現をとことん詰め込んでは捨て、詰め込んでは捨てを繰り返しながら、思い描いたものを形にする作業に没頭した。
とりわけVO shukuの偏った趣味嗜好が色濃く反映された時期であり、70年代ブリティッシュ・ハードロックのような「空間のある重厚」さの盛り込みや「突発的に場面転換する危うさ」に執拗な拘りを込めた。「ギターはダウンのみ！ハンマリング！ピッキングハーモニクス大好きっ！チョーキングはもっと苦しそうな顔で！！」「シンバルは超大振りで！一発を全力で振り切れっ！」から始まり「さっきまで笑っていた人が、予兆なしに、いきなりちゃぶ台をひっくり返すんだよ！わかるっ？！」「モグロのドーンッだよっ！」「まっちゃんのダーンッ！だよっ！」「シンジ君のギャーッ！っだよ！！」。......曲作りの現場では、とてもバンドマンとは思えないオーダーが飛び交い続けた。
Aメロ、Bメロ、サビ？静から動へ段階的に展開？そんなセオリーはいらない。でも一人でも多くの人に聴いてほしい。そのワガママな欲求をギリギリのバランスで突き詰めた「ごった煮」サウンド。ライスも汁ものも箸休めもない「脂っこいおかずだけ」の3品を是非試食してみてほしい。

indwat is a Tokyo-based band formed in the late 90s. a record of young misfits who couldn't quite surrender to the wave of grunge, US hardcore, and alternative rock. They jammed in studios, recorded lo-fi tracks, and played gigs at live houses like Koenji GEAR, Shinjuku ANTIKNOCK, and Shibuya CYCLONE. chasing a deliberately dead sound that captured the raw mood of the time. Their lyrics take a third-person view, embracing the aesthetic of ambiguity. Sung as if poetic, as if philosophical, as if meaningful. yet always left open to interpretation. indwat is a portrait of an era where whatever was not apathy, but a form of freedom.
