Synopsis (Terutora Serving the Meal)
Koshiji, the mother of Takeda army strategist Yamamoto Kansuke, once served the Uesugi clan and invites her enemy, Uesugi Terutora (Kenshin), into her home.

Kansuke's wife, Okatsu, intends to assassinate Terutora for her husband, pretending to stutter while serving the meal, waiting for an opportunity. Meanwhile, Kansuke returns home and sneaks under the floorboards, ready to stab Terutora to death with a bamboo spear. Terutora is aware of all of this murderous intent. However, without a single change of expression, Terutora uses his chopsticks to deliberately make loud noises as he stabs and cuts the kachiguri (chestnuts) and noshi abalone (dried abalone) on the tray Okatsu has brought. Just as Kansuke, who is standing below, tries to stab him with his spear, Terutora stomps his foot and bangs on the tray, dodging the tip of the sword and subduing him instead. It's a spectacular scene, fought not with words but with sound and spirit.
