Singing, writing words, building sounds, and creating stories. shido is a multi-creator who brings a new world to life with each song. She is known for her wide vocal range and husky voice, which seems to carry the subtle tremors of emotion. Through literary lyrics and dramatic soundscapes, she portrays everything from quiet inner worlds to chaos. From songwriting and arranging to producing and writing scripts for music videos, she brings music and storytelling together in her creations. Having spent her childhood in the United States, shido grew up surrounded by classical music and jazz. She began creating music and playing in bands at 14. Around the age of 15, she started releasing her work online, and while living in Boston, she also worked on music for short films with students from Berklee College of Music. Today, she remains anonymous, with around 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, sharing her original music with listeners in Japan and beyond. In an era filled with songs about love, what shido explores is life itself, far beyond romance. Her experience of struggling with voice loss has also shaped her creative journey. Through her distinctive world of stillness and transparency, she continues to portray dreams, loneliness, and the many emotions people carry through life.
