The eighth single by singer-songwriter Satoko Utsumi, Mermaid of the Sea of Trees, is a bold new song that stands apart from her previous works and challenges a fresh image.
The song tells the story of a mermaid who should be in the ocean but somehow gets lost in a forest and finds herself in a desperate situation.

    A singer-songwriter from Hyogo, currently based in Tokyo. Known for the beauty of her string and piano arrangements, she brings each composition to life as if painting a picture, drawing from her experience in composing for visual media. In recent years, she has created numerous songs inspired by the theme of "flowers," expressing a lyrical and dreamlike world. She actively collaborates with artists both in Japan and abroad and has contributed extensively as a composer and arranger to the works of French hip-hop artist Antilopsa Shogoun Noir. As she takes on the global music scene, she continues to create music that deeply resonates with people's hearts.
