KIRISUTE GOMEN
...I haven't said it
Not yet
If you're gonna apologize
Now's the time
Our shoulders touched
I couldn't care less
But that mouth of yours
I don't much like
Whether I cut you down
That's up to you
I'll let it go once
There won't be
A second time
"If you think you can cut me
Go ahead and try"
Is that so?
My blade is still
Inside its sheath
KIRISUTE GOMEN
Now—
It's too late
Past the evening bell
Upon the bridge
A single lantern
Sways in the wind
Sake on his breath
And nowhere to be
Stumbling along
Like the night's been good
Passing each other
Our shoulders collide
One hard bump
And both feet stop
That alone
Wouldn't bother me
"Hey."
Just one word
I call behind him
The man turns around
With a laugh through his nose
"What?
You got a problem
With me?"
The bridge
Falls quiet
Bow your head
And this is over
You can still
Walk away
This ain't worth
Dying for your pride
So
Don't say
What you're about
To say
KIRISUTE GOMEN
...I haven't said it
Not yet
If you're gonna apologize
Now's the time
Our shoulders touched
I couldn't care less
But that mouth of yours
I don't much like
Whether I cut you down
That's up to you
I'll let it go once
There won't be
A second time
"If you think you can cut me
Go ahead and try"
Is that so?
My blade is still
Inside its sheath
KIRISUTE GOMEN
Now—
It's too late
The crowd looks down
And turns away
Shop curtains
Quietly close
The bridge that was roaring
A moment ago
Now there's nothing
But the insects' song
"Just because you're samurai
You think you're better?"
The man takes
One step forward
A short club
Comes out from his coat
The moment I see it
The wind stops
Don't
I don't particularly
Want to cut you down
I'd rather be drinking
Sake tonight
But if you're still
Gonna raise that thing
Well—
That's a different story
Our shoulders touched
That was all
One bow
And it would've been done
Go right
I go right
Go left
I go left
Didn't matter
Either way
But one word
Became another
You threw one
I threw one back
Who's stronger?
I ain't got time
To find out
Pride
Rank
Samurai
I don't give a damn
About those signs
But once I draw
There's no going back
While the blade's
Inside the sheath
There's still time
I'm asking you
Don't make me
Say it
"If you think you can cut me—
Then cut me."
Is that so?
If that's how far
You wanna take this
Then so be it
KIRISUTE GOMEN
There
I said it
The time to apologize
Has already passed
Our shoulders touched
I couldn't care less
But making me draw—
I won't forget that
Whether I cut you down
Was up to you
At least
It was
A moment ago
One step forward
The wind screams
Moonlight runs
Along the blade
KIRISUTE GOMEN
One strike
That's all
This will take
Now—
It's too late
