Seiji Lakefield sixth studio album takes as its central theme the power of music to stay close to the human heart.
Across four songs, fragments of different lives are drawn each unique, yet bound together by the warmth of remembering and longing for another.


1. Vertigo

She is free-spirited and witty, yet her mercurial moods toss an ordinary man heart to and fro.
The woman once loved is likened to the ever-shifting hues of hydrangeas, inspired by Masaoka Shiki haiku:
Hydrangea yesterday truth, today lie.
Love fleeting truth and falsity are captured in this poignant opening track.


2. One Umbrella

A story of two souls reunited.
Rooted in myself UK rock heritage, the band sound glitters like the golden effervescence of champagne an echo of youthful love that has long since taken separate paths.
Though reunited at last, the fire no longer burns as before. What remains is the quiet afterglow of a love once shared.

3. Heartache

A teenage girl inner world is set to song.
Sweetness tinged with bitterness, like a sky fading from evening blue into crimson dusk.
She longs to run to him yet something within keeps her from being honest with herself.
That restless ache finds voice in a melody at once tender and transparent.

4. Relevé

An aging, solitary man recalls the ghostly vision of his late wife within the old school they once shared.
Her graceful ballet steps, the scent of heath, the damp strands of hair at her nape shimmering with sweat memories stand vividly still, like a waterfowl poised upon the lake.
It is a quiet hymn to the warmth of love, even in the shadow of loss.
