Takaya Kawasaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter who grew up in Yokohama and Osaka. In 1997, at the age of 21, he traveled around the world and ended up performing an original song and received cheers at the famous "Amateur Night" at the Apollo Theater in New York City. After returning to Japan, he settled in Tokyo, where he continued to perform live music. In 2005, he collaborated with jazz pianist Yuichiro Aratake and released his first album, "Higashi no Sora (East Sky)" in Japan. In the same year, he moved to New York. He released his second album, "Harukaze (Spring Wind)" in 2008 both in Japan and the U.S., co-produced by an American music producer, Chris Takita, and performed with graduates of the Berklee College of Music.
