"Sandii's Hawaii Series" is the life's work of Sandii, who is currently the best Hawaiian vocalist in Japan.
Sandii was praised by Music Journalist Toyo Nakamura, who said, "Let's hope she will establish an unprecedentedly large scale performing art. She has played many different styles of music, but it goes without saying that her musical experiences in Hawaii, where she spent much of her teenage years, have been a major source of inspiration for her music.
And this series, which began in 1996, became a major sign for her as a worldwide musician.
Two years have passed since Sandy released "Sandii's Hawaii 5th". Sandii started a new Hula Studio and is full of ambition, has decided to jump over "6" and release "7," a number that represents the beginning of a new journey.
The album is a collection of 19 songs, including well-known songs that everyone has heard before, as well as Sandy's secret, treasured spiritual songs.
The album is accompanied by top musicians such as Yuki Yamauchi "Alani" Yamauchi, who provides solid sound support.
The main concept of this album is to build a paradise for the soul while immersing yourself in the "peaceful" music that Sandy has always advocated.
Sandii lived in Hawaii during her late teens and most of her 20s. In that period, she sang in clubs and studied hula with Aunty Bella Richards of Kailua. She also met and bonded with Pattye Kealohalani Wright, who later became a Kumu Hula through Aunty Lani Kalama (1990). Sandii has the various, many different musical phases of her recording career. She has recorded as Sandi Ai, Sandy Hohn, Sandii & the Sunsetz, and now as Sandii. Since 1996, her albums have been Hawaiian or Polynesian-theme.
