日英2言語を軽やかに操るバイリンガルであり、今年「FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2023」にもROOKIE A GO-GO枠にて出演を果たすなど今注目を浴びているラッパー・Kingoの記念すべき1st EP『Bandages』が完成した。

本作はKingoが2022年以降製作してきた楽曲たちを中心にコンパイルされた作品となっており、路上ライブでの注目や、初めて出会う音楽プロデューサーたちとの制作、フジロックへの出演など激動の日々を締め括る一作となっている。

タイトルの "Bandages"は英語で「絆創膏」。Kingoは「自分にとって"音楽を作ること"が心のヒーリングプロセス。今回のEPの楽曲たちの制作は、まさに自分自身の負ってきた「傷」に絆創膏を貼るような作業だった。」と語っており、M5『Always Around』を筆頭に、彼が自身の多様な経験を重ねた人生や、今日、アーティストとして重ねているキャリアに向き合って綴ってきた楽曲たちが収録されている。

  • Kingo

    1998年東京都生まれ。 東京を中心に活動するラッパー / ヒップホップアーティスト。 日本生まれでありながら、戦後のカンボジアとアメリカ合衆国を転々とした経験から国際的なストーリーを有し、日英2言語でのバイリンガルなラップや海外アーティストとの楽曲制作など、グローバルな活動を展開している。また、ケンドリック・ラマーやファンカデリックなど様々な ジャンルのアーティストに影響を受けた類まれなる表現を持つ。 2022年、バンドスタイルで行った路上ライブのTwitter動画が10万回再生を超えるなど大きな反響を得る。音源面においては、音楽プロデューサーA.G.O.と制作した「Always Around」が各種ストリーミングサービスで配信されており、各種音楽配信サービスの公式プレイリストに多数選曲。 2023年にはFUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2023 ROOKIE A GO-GOステージにて初出演を果たす。 2026年8月、前作から3年ぶりとなるEP「cheqpoint.」をリリースする。
