日英2言語を軽やかに操るバイリンガルであり、今年「FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2023」にもROOKIE A GO-GO枠にて出演を果たすなど今注目を浴びているラッパー・Kingoの記念すべき1st EP『Bandages』が完成した。

本作はKingoが2022年以降製作してきた楽曲たちを中心にコンパイルされた作品となっており、路上ライブでの注目や、初めて出会う音楽プロデューサーたちとの制作、フジロックへの出演など激動の日々を締め括る一作となっている。

タイトルの "Bandages"は英語で「絆創膏」。Kingoは「自分にとって"音楽を作ること"が心のヒーリングプロセス。今回のEPの楽曲たちの制作は、まさに自分自身の負ってきた「傷」に絆創膏を貼るような作業だった。」と語っており、M5『Always Around』を筆頭に、彼が自身の多様な経験を重ねた人生や、今日、アーティストとして重ねているキャリアに向き合って綴ってきた楽曲たちが収録されている。

  • Kingo

    Kingo（キンゴ）は東京を中心に活動するラッパー、Hip-Hop/Soulアーティスト。英語でのラップに加えて、日本語での歌唱やトラックのプロデュースなども行う24歳。 日本生まれでありながら、戦後のカンボジアとアメリカ合衆国を転々とした経験から国際的なストーリーを有している。また、ケンドリック・ラマーやファンカデリックなど様々なジャンルのアーティストに影響を受けた類まれなる表現を持つ。 2022年にバンドスタイルで行った路上ライブのTwitter動画が10万回以上の再生を超え、大きな反響を得る。こうしたライブ活動が評価され、2023年にはFUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2023にROOKIE A GO-GO枠で初出演を果たし、オーディエンスを大いに沸かせた。 またイラストレーターのJUN INAGAWAが原案を手がけるテレビアニメ『魔法少女マジカルデストロイヤーズ』（2023年4月より毎日放送ほかにて放送中）にて、音楽プロデューサー・羽柴吟の指揮のもと、劇中の挿入歌にラッパーとして参加するなど、幅広い活躍を見せている。 2023年冬に1st EP「Bandages」をリリース。合わせて開催された初のワンマンライブを盛況に終える。
