Okayama-based rapper Dat will release a new EP "Itsu no manika no Ima wo" on April 18 (Thursday).
Dat, who also works as the manager of the coffee shop "EMPIRE COFFEE ROASTERS," is a rapper with a strong flow and unadorned lyrics that reflect his life in a straightforward manner. Belonging to local label THE WEST CLASSIC RECORDS, he has released many works with an organic sound that samples jazz and soul. Last year, he released the EP "IN DA HOUSE" as well as the single "BBS (B-BOY SESSION)". In addition, he has been actively involved in other activities, such as participating in the single "Asobi" by Fusewa, hosting an event in Okayama, and releasing a music video for "Nukumori," which is also included in the current album.
The EP to be released this time is based on the concept of "when is now" as it marks the 10th year since Dat started rapping. The sound is put together in a mellow and calm line, and the work is a song about his activities and life as a rapper. Produced by Osaka beatmaker yamabequo, as well as KAZ-SHIT, who worked on "BBS (B-BOY SESSION)," and kakasi, who also participated in "IN DA HOUSE. The guest performer is Amaba, who is active in the Okayama rap group "Dice Color".
Mixed by yamabequo and mastered by Toru Matsushita. Artwork was created by Notorious 084.
