Lyric
Lam Phloen Nakhon Phanom
Banyen Siwongsa
Verse 1:
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the land of virtue
There are countless places to visit in our part of Isan
Wat Phra That Phanom is a paradise for Isanese
Let's meet here every year and make donations together
Hook 1:
Welcome, Isanese!
Let me invite you with the call of a molam girl
Your brave Majesty, the great founder of this land
Honored by more than enough people
In the Lak Muang Shrine and the Chao Pho Muen Nakhon Phanom Shrine
You can hear the incessant prayers of the defeated
Verse 2:
We go to pray
Renu Nakhon District is like a heavenly world
The beauty of Nakhon Phanom, a place that lingers in the mind (Repeat)
Impressive Sao Khoi Square
Hook 2:
Please let me take you there
I'll take you with me
Impressive Wat Phra That Phanom
We from all over Thailand go there to worship
From Tha Uthen District and Ban Phaeng District (Repeat)
Renu Nakhon, Na Wa, Pla Pak, Na Kae District
Khamcha-i District, Don Tan District, then Muang Mukdahan District and other incoming believers
From the people of Nikhom Kham Soi District, too (Repeat)
Everyone in Dong Luang District also comes to pay their respects
People from Sri Songkhram District also go to Wat Phra That Phanom
A delightful annual tradition (Repeated)
Our popular March Festival
Hook 3:
A festival so spectacular that it attracts the attention of everyone
All the people in Wan Yai District show off their cool at the festival
The rest of the people enjoy watching molam
And outdoor screenings
A grand festival that has received rave reviews from all over the world
You should come here at least once before you die
Verse 4:
Everyone who is visiting this place
Let's go to Wat Phra That Phanom
Gilding the Buddha's relics (Repeat)
Until the end of the world, my life is for the Thai nation

EM Records again shines the spotlight on legendary Thai producer Surin Phaksiri in this second edition of his classic productions from the 1960s-80s. The first edition, released in 2019, focused on his innovative productions in the luk thung style. This 2022 release features his stellar, glowing molam gems from the 60s-80s, drawn mainly from his golden era in the late 70s and early 80s. Surin Phaksiri is a highly esteemed figure in Thai music, rooted deeply in his native region of Isan in northeast Thailand, a producer with a deep respect for the traditional artistry of his culture, yet always moving forward, looking outward, listening ahead. The molam style of Thai music showcases the voice; indeed, the genre's name means "expert singer", and Thailand is blessed with an abundance of experts, singers with amazing control, grace, vitality and finesse. This collection of 22 songs features 15 singers, ranging from venerated legends to unjustly unheralded masters of the art. These songs were recorded and released after the era of the 7-inch single; with the advent of the cassette boom in Thai music, most producers adopted a quantity-over-quality conveyer belt production style, churning out soundalike material to fill the expanded length of cassette tape. Phaksiri resisted these tides and continued to work with a single-song mindset, tailoring each production's instrumentation and arrangement to precisely fit each singer and song. This care and integrity can be clearly heard in this sweetly groovy collection. These gems, originally released on 7-inch vinyl, are all first-time official reissues, a project years in the making. Compiled by Soi48, who also provide liner notes.
