Lam Toei Ram Wong Romance
Kampun Foongsuk
Verse 1:
You
Let's lam for the play of love tonight
I want to ram like a molam girl flirting with you
I want to do the ramwong
I'm so in love with you
I want you to share your love with me
And I want you to care about my love too
So let's do the ramwong
Molam girls are conscientious about your grace
If I could, I'd make love to you before bed
I only love you, dark-haired beauty
You can seduce me, you can make me shed my eyes (Repeat)
Or am I not in your eyes?
Hook 1:
You make me so confused (Repeat)
When I'm thinking of you
Now that we've met, let's play ramwong (Repeat)
Worthy man, don't be a small man (Repeat)
Verse 2:
Our eyes met
I bowed and asked him to dance. Don't just stand there
Have you ever played ramwong?
I met you with a beautiful voice and fair skin
Hook 2:
Why are you sitting there?(repeat)
Let's get up and do the ramwong
I bowed but why don't you go dance? (Repeat)
Don't ignore me. Let's have some fun (Repeat)
If you go out with me, I'll love you with all my heart (Repeat)
Where did you come from? He seems nice (Repeat)
Ramwong doesn't need your arrogance
Don't stop, let's do the ramwong
I really love only you (Repeat)
More than any other human being
Don't be shy, let's do the ramwong (Repeat)
People with sparkling eyes, let's go (Repeat)
I've loved you for a long time
Good, good, good (Repeat)
You are a man of merit
I can tell you that I love you with all my heart
I can tell you're someone I can really appreciate
Hook 3:
You, come quickly
There's so many people here, I'm afraid someone else will get you
My love for you is like a wide sky over the city
Hurry up and welcome to ramwong
This song is for two people to dance to
I'm worried about being distracted by you
Verse 3:
I found myself at your side (Repeat)
I want to get closer to you in ramwong (Repeat)
I can't take it anymore... (Repeat)
I'm sad to say goodbye to you (Repeat)

EM Records again shines the spotlight on legendary Thai producer Surin Phaksiri in this second edition of his classic productions from the 1960s-80s. The first edition, released in 2019, focused on his innovative productions in the luk thung style. This 2022 release features his stellar, glowing molam gems from the 60s-80s, drawn mainly from his golden era in the late 70s and early 80s. Surin Phaksiri is a highly esteemed figure in Thai music, rooted deeply in his native region of Isan in northeast Thailand, a producer with a deep respect for the traditional artistry of his culture, yet always moving forward, looking outward, listening ahead. The molam style of Thai music showcases the voice; indeed, the genre's name means "expert singer", and Thailand is blessed with an abundance of experts, singers with amazing control, grace, vitality and finesse. This collection of 22 songs features 15 singers, ranging from venerated legends to unjustly unheralded masters of the art. These songs were recorded and released after the era of the 7-inch single; with the advent of the cassette boom in Thai music, most producers adopted a quantity-over-quality conveyer belt production style, churning out soundalike material to fill the expanded length of cassette tape. Phaksiri resisted these tides and continued to work with a single-song mindset, tailoring each production's instrumentation and arrangement to precisely fit each singer and song. This care and integrity can be clearly heard in this sweetly groovy collection. These gems, originally released on 7-inch vinyl, are all first-time official reissues, a project years in the making. Compiled by Soi48, who also provide liner notes.
