"South Tape" is the latest EP from Yokohama-based rapper MELLMWOR1D, produced in collaboration with fellow South Yokohama native Noconoco.
Consisting of five diverse tracks, the project reflects the duo's shared roots in the city's south side (045), blending street realism, emotional nuance, and genre-spanning soundscapes.

The lead single, "South Side," already a local anthem, samples the official Yokohama City song in a bold and inventive fashion. Over an energetic and melodic beat, MELLMWOR1D lays down a vibrant tribute to his hometown-equal parts pride, chaos, and ambition.

In "Enemy" he questions the binary of good and evil, rapping from the gray areas that define street life. "Sk8er Boy" follows a raw and poetic narrative of a local skater falling for a high-rise girl from another world-crossing class lines through a lens of youth, longing, and reality.

From dark trap to mellow anthems, South Tape offers a stylistically rich, yet thematically unified body of work, rooted firmly in the artist's city while speaking to universal themes of identity, love, and aspiration.
